As of March 31, 2023, businesses must  provide a PDF copy of an identity document for each director (passport, health card or driver's license)
An email address will be provided within the application to send us the required documentation.

If you are incorporated in a jurisdiction other than Quebec but will have a physical address in Quebec, you must complete the registration (immatriculation) of your company.

Once filed with the Registraire des Entreprises your corporation will be issued a Numéro d'entreprise du Québec.

Most financial institutions will insist on having your NEQ in order to open a corporate bank account.

I recommend IncorpDirect for those out there whose first language is not French and who don’t have several hours to sit at their computer to try to figure out how to register for a Quebec business number, which was my case. Their website is clear, clean and easy to use. However, I had some technical difficulties and couldn’t “check out.” I called and they were quick to respond. When the employee tried but could not help me she handed the call to Bill, the owner of the company. Bill got on the line and we walked through the process together—during which he discovered an unrelated mistake I had made and corrected it. Anyway, in no time the problem was resolved. Bill actually made the whole thing kind of fun. We had a few good laughs, and believe me, I needed to laugh at that point! Hats off to IncorpDirect.
PS— all this took place yesterday and I received my business number today. Not bad at all!

You only need to register in Quebec or Ontario if your company is opening a physical office in that province.

If you are incorporated and your name is English only then when you register in Quebec you will need to have a French version of your name.

Your legal name is your legal name, however you will be asked for a French version of your name. You will indicate this as a "Trade name used in Quebec"

Registration in Ontario can take 2-4 weeks as they are not submitted electronically. Registration in Quebec is completed electronically but will still take anywhere from 7-14 business days.

This is strictly a guideline as times can change depending on volumes at the government offices.
