A NUANS® name search is required before filing the appropriate government forms.

Once the name change has been approved, Federal corporations must notify their provincial registrar. We can do this for you in Ontario and Québec however a separate application will be required once the Amendment has been finalized.

We will pre-search your desired name before processing the Nuans® name search. If any names appear that cause concern we will ask you for an alternate name.

If your company head office is elsewhere than Ontario or Quebec we will complete your Federal Amendment and you will need to notify your provincial registry after that.

If your legal name is English and you are registered in Quebec, you will simply need a French equivalent for the Quebec Registrar. It should be a translation of the English name.

Your legal name remains the name that you incorporated Federally, and you simply have a French name for Quebec. The French name is not your legal name.
