Frequently Asked Questions
- Can I register an English name?
- How long will my name be registered for? Will I need to renew it?
- Do I need to perform a name search to see if the name is available?
- How will I know if my partnership is approved?
You can register an English version of your French name. In Quebec names must be French and can have an English version.
You will need to file annual returns for your sole proprietorship/ partnership in order to keep it active. It isn’t a “renewal” per say, just an annual return.
A name search is not required, however if you do not do a name search and the name you register is already incorporated, your application will be rejected. A name search before registration is advisable and we will do so at no additional charge.
We will send you a copy of your file by email as soon as it is published by the Quebec Registry Office.
