How it works

In Canada, a NUANS® name search is one of the first steps toward incorporating a business: you verify that the name you want to operate under is available.

• Every province requires a NUANS® search for incorporation except Quebec, which uses its own database.
• If you incorporate federally in Quebec, a NUANS® search is again mandatory.
• Once complete, a report is generated that must be referenced in your incorporation paperwork.
