Sole-proprietorship - Start your Business!

In order to use a sole-proprietorship in Ontario or Québec it must first be registered.

Upon registration in Quebec you will obtain your Numéro d’entreprise de Québec (NEQ). A sole-proprietorship registration does not protect the name. Only incorporation protects your name in the province of Québec. In fact, you will be registered under your first and last name unless you choose to add trade names.

Upon registration in Ontario you will receive your Ontario Corporation Number from the Ontario Ministry. A sole-proprietorship registration will not protect the name. Only incorporation will protect your name in the province of Ontario.
